The Area
La Dehesa de Campoamor, Alicante, is a village in the very south of the Costa Blanca, bordering on the Costa Calida.
The climate is probably the best in Spain, and there being no heavy industry anywhere near this area it is considered by The World Health Organisation to be one of the healthiest places in the world to live.
Campoamor village itself is very “Spanish”. It is a blend of high rise apartment blocks, all with fantastically kept gardens, and hundreds of beautiful villas in and around the protected pine forested area.
There are several restaurants, a pizza House, Ice cream parlour, supermarket, chemist and gift shop.
A few minutes walk in the opposite direction from El Mirador takes you up to the Costa de Orihuela “Strip” commonly known as Cabo Roig. Here you will find numerous, bars, cafes, clubs, etc. This area is a hive of activity until well into the early hours, and is in complete contrast to the quiet, laid back village just the other side of the bay. A short taxi ride of approx. €10 euro will get you there.
